For our first ever visit to the Miami and South Florida, we embarked on a 5 day spontaneous and impromptu trip without preparing a list of attractions, restaurants, and activities to see, eat and do.

In our years traveling together, we found the way we tend to travel is more akin to “power exploring” than “peaceful vacationing”, which often results in us trying to pack as many things into an itinerary that we can handle. And for our trips, we usually plan a rough itinerary or list of things we want to do, see, and eat at our destination.

Unlike our previous 2-week trip to 4 Hawaiian islands ( http://bit.ly/itinerarychallengehawaii ), for this trip to Miami we didn’t create a travel itinerary list of things to do. We wanted to chronicle our adventures visiting Miami and other locations in South Florida as part of our Travel Itinerary Challenge Series–even though we don’t have a predetermined itinerary–to share our experience doing, eating, and seeing a number of attractions in a set amount of time in hopes it might help others deciding to visit Miami for the first time or for a return visit.
